The High Commission of India in Jamaica organised the first Indian Diaspora Conference recently at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel. The conference was attended by hundreds of people from the Jamaican Indian community and Indian expat community. At the occasion a photo exhibition depicted the arrival of Indians in Jamaica; their costumes, implements, jewellery, and antics; and the accomplishments of present-day Indians in Jamaica. The sessions were also punctuated by graceful and entertaining dance performances.
