“The killing of Constable Jarrett is a reprehensible and cowardly act that cannot be tolerated in any civilised society. We must work together to bring those responsible to justice and do everything possible to prevent similar incidents from reoccurring,” Bunting said.
He added: “My heart goes out to Constable Jarrett’s family, friends, and colleagues, and I call on the government to take swift and decisive action to ensure the safety of all Jamaicans, including our law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect us.”
Bunting also extended condolences to the family of Constable Ramone Evans from the St Andrew South Division, who died in a fiery crash on the Edward Seaga Highway on Sunday. He stated that the loss of Constable Evans is also tragic and that his thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
