Man charged after allegedly breaking into a school
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – A man has been charged after he was implicated in the burglary of a school in St Andrew on Monday, May 15.
Charged is Orlando Swaby otherwise called ‘Lando’, who was arrested and charged with school house breaking and larceny.
Reports from the police are that about 5:20 am, the complainant securely locked the building and upon her return she discovered that it had been broken into. Further investigations and review of video footage revealed that Swaby had allegedly broken a bathroom window at the back of the building to gain access then ransacked several offices.
He allegedly made off with a Samsung A13 cell phone, property of the school valuing about US$450 and also money in the form of coins. A report was made to the police, an investigation launched and Swaby was apprehended during a targeted raid, and taken into custody on Tuesday, May 16.
He was subsequently charged on Thursday, May 18.
Swaby’s court date is being finalised.
