Sensational Move, who finished an encouraging third behind Mojito and Huntsman in The Kingston, should have no trouble beating competitors in today’s $1.02-million Monday Morning Trophy feature at Caymanas Park.

Bred by Sensational Slam out of the Burning Marque mare Money Move, Sensational Move made strong headway in deep stretch to finish 17-and-a-half lengths behind Mojito over seven-and-a-half furlongs (1,500m) on May 7.

That was only the second run of his career following a 10-length win on debut in a five-and-a-half furlong (1,100m) event on April 15.

Sensational Move, trained by Gary Subratie, appears to be the class of the event, and with nothing else in the field even half as excellent as Mojito or Huntsman, he should win the trophy race. Omar Walker is still riding the chestnut colt, which has a top weight of 55.0kg (121 lb).

Stablemates Anonymous and Savvy Girl as well as Princess Sharon and From Sheer To Ben have the potential to make Sensational Move work hard for victory here.

The Restricted Allowance II contest for native-bred three-year-olds (non-winners of two) and imported three-year-olds and upward (maidens) over seven furlongs (1,400m) is positioned as the ninth and final event on the card with a post time of 5:10 pm. First race is at 12:15 pm.

Anonymous, trained by Anthony Nunes, was expected to fare far better than his 12th-place showing in The Kingston, especially after coming fourth in the previous race, the Prince Consort Stakes. The bay colt should find these easier to control; therefore, an improved effort is expected.

Savvy Girl finished seventh in The Portmore, only 10-and-a-half lengths behind stablemates Thalita and Mamma Mia over seven-and-a-half furlongs on May 6. Savvy Girl had finished fourth behind Bootylicious in the Thornbird Stakes over seven furlongs on April 8. The bay filly fits in beautifully here and should race well.

Princess Sharon, bred, owned, and trained by Fitzroy Glipsie, was expected to run a good race in The Portmore, but the bay filly only showed up for the first half of the seven-and-a-half furlong affair before giving up and finishing eighth by 15 lengths behind Thalita. Princess Sharon, on the other hand, was a remarkable winner on debut over today’s distance, beating competitors by four and a quarter lengths in a time of 1:28.1 minutes, and if she can replicate that effort, she could be a formidable contender.

On April 23 From Sheer To Ben made a winning debut over six furlongs (1,200m), defeating competitors by a length and three quarters in a time of 1:15.0. From Sheer To Ben appears to be the type of runner who enjoys long-distance races, making today’s distance manageable for him. From Sheer To Ben will make a bold bid here with greater space for progress.
