HEART/NSTA Trust wins ‘Best Booth’ at Beauty Expo
Having won Best Booth at Jamaica International Beauty Expo on Saturday, the HEART/NSTA Trust is basking in what they say is the result of consistent dedication and investment in the talent at the institution.
Although they are no strangers to the Best Booth title, Kaydia Newman, director principal at HEART told OBSERVER ONLINE that this year’s win is even more satisfying as it showcases the institution’s growth over the years.
“We’ve won Best Booth three of four years at the Beauty Expo and I am so very proud of the trainees that have participated in the event. They are a hardworking, dedicated set of professionals who go above and beyond to ensure those who stop by our both get the best service,” she said. “At HEART we value service and that was what we showcased at the expo. Those who visited benefitted from massages, make-up tutorials, and barbering services and they were more than pleased. We loved seeing the smiles on their faces leaving our booth.”
The HEART/NSTA Trust booth setup was executed by Matthew Lawrence of So Creative, a boutique management agency specialising in event management and execution, marketing and entertainment services.
Highlighting that the services extended at the booth over the weekend were done by the institution’s students, Newman said the Beauty Expo is the perfect opportunity for trainees to hone their skills.
“These are the persons who will one day launch their careers as professionals and the Beauty Expo has given them the chance to test their skills in real-time and gain a more hands-on experience,” she said.
“We have some of the best-skilled individuals in the beauty industry and they look forward to this event each year as they usually use it to build connections through networking.”
Taneisha Ingleton, managing director, highlighted HEARTS’s dedication to fostering growth and development across all sectors in Jamaica.
According to Ingleton, HEART recognises “the vital role that skills training and vocational education play in driving economic progress” and said the Trust is pleased to be a part of this year’s Beauty Expo.
“HEART has been doing significant work across the beauty industry through targeted training of professionals who have demonstrated excellence in the sectors they serve. The Trust is on full display at the expo conducting recruitment, hosting plenary sessions and on-the-spot assessment and certification as well as providing services offered by its very own beauty College – The HEART College of Beauty Services,” she said. “I urge all Jamaicans to visit our booth and connect with officers who are on-site to learn more about the Trust and its suite of programme and service offerings.”
This year’s Jamaica International Beauty Expo is currently underway at the Montego Bay Convention Center in St James.
