Boom Boom renews ambassadorship with Boom
Renowned sound system selector and promoter Marlon “Boom Boom” Wizard was in jubilant spirits after he renewed his brand ambassador deal with Boom Energy Drink on Wednesday at his Grant’s Pen address in St Andrew.
“Well, fi tell yuh the truth, a something weh did fi happen. Mi did supposed to renew my contract and is like the whole COVID pandemic did kinda stall it up. So, right now, mi just feel happy and mi just feel overwhelmed,” he told the Jamaica Observer shortly after the signing.
Wizard is promoter of the popular Boom Sundays dance, as well as Campari Uptown Mondays and Sperone Boasy Tuesdays.
In the meantime, Wizard said the deal fell into place organically.
“It start from couple years ago when mi a go Allstar Boom Thursday Sound Clash and mi always see Keteisha [McHugh, Boom Energy Drink brand manager] and mi a seh, ‘Keteisha, when yah go sign mi?’ because Boom Energy Drink is the number one energy drink inna Jamaica and mi a the number one DJ inna Jamaica, suh it woulda mek a great team. One day now, mi deh home and get a call seh dem ready fi sign mi,” he explained.
He further added that his responsibilities include representing and endorsing the brand.
The selector is also encouraging others who aspire to work with corporate brands to market themselves.
“Dem haffi just put in the work. Once you put in the work, you shall get paid enuh. It just come naturally; once yah do something and yah get paid, relevant people a call yuh name. Once a something good yah go do, corporate aguh find yuh. So, don’t follow di youth dem weh a do some wrong things fi mek a name…it nah go work. Once yah do good, and yuh relevant, and yuh deh pon top a yuh game, corporate aguh call yuh,” he said.
