New Xodus CEO promises a better carnival experience
The newly minted CEO of Xodus Carnival, Pierre Goubault has promised continued growth and expansion of the Xodus brand locally and internationally.
“My vision for Xodus is to bring a safe, fun, exciting carnival season where Jamaicans will learn to appreciate more about the soca culture as well as to contribute to the overall growth of the sector which will benefit tourism in Jamaica on a whole,” Goubault, who has years of experience in entertainment and corporate Jamaica, disclosed in an interview with the Jamaica Observer last Friday.
Goubault continued, “Using the tools and knowledge from my previous experiences in entertainment will definitely play a pivotal role in maintaining the growth and progression of the Xodus Carnival brand. Understanding your consumer’s wants and how the entertainment market operates is essential for any entertainment business. Not only being into entertainment but being an avid carnival participant in every major carnival worldwide has allowed me to bring new concepts and ideas to Jamaica.”
While in high school, Goubault started out as a disc jock on popular sound system Bloodline. He later transitioned into doing events.
“Being involved in a sound system could be every lover of entertainment’s childhood dream, of being a “selector”. Music has and still is, to this day, something I’m very passionate about. From owning folders of MP3’s to the now very extensive library on my streaming services. Music moves me and was what made me fall in love with entertainment,” said the former St George’s College student.
Goubault has been the engine behind some of the most noticeable projects that have dominated the entertainment scene in Jamaica for decades, including Red Stripe – Red Summer and Smirnoff Summer Experience.
“Starting in promotions at the tender age of 16, before the advertising/ promotions agency boom, gave me the opportunity to work with every major alcohol brand and be responsible for the launch of many amazing products and brands that have remained a consumer favourite to this date. The pinnacle of my experience was working on some of my own projects, such as A.T.I / R.T.I weekend in Negril, now famously known as the best party series, Dream Weekend,” said Goubault.
Since its inception in 2017, Xodus Carnival has grown into one of the most prominent bands that revellers flock to during carnival season.
“Quite frankly, before our official launch in 2017, starting a Carnival Band was a project the Directors of Dream Entertainment had in mind for years. Naturally, we used our knowledge and expertise from our previous festivals to transition into the Carnival space. Our Trinidad partners, Yuma Carnival, also played an integral role in understanding the Carnival landscape, the flair of exquisite costume designs and how to make the market successful. This allowed us to focus more on the growth of Carnival in Jamaica, which has all the attributes of becoming one of the biggest Carnivals in the region. Jamaica has tremendous room for growth and Xodus promises to focus on creating better experiences for our revelers,” Goubault reasoned.
“Xodus Carnival is on track to launch within the next sixty days. Revellers and the general public can expect nothing but another amazing launch with the biggest and best band in Jamaica. We are introducing new packages and a better range of costume selections, colors and fitment for everyone including the addition of male costumes,” said Goubault.
