On a balmy summer day, June 30, 2023, two hearts converged in harmony as IT Specialist Richard Hutchinson Jr and assistant at the Jamaica Central Securities Depository Limited Santeio Brooks tied the knot. Their love story began at church camp in the summer of 2019. After a few weeks of getting to know each other as friends, their connection deepened. Richard recalls, “Months later, after getting multiple confirmations from God, we decided to take things to another level.”

With the blessings of their pastors, Richard orchestrated a traditional proposal that left Santeio pleasantly surprised. Serenading her at her church, Richard made his heartfelt intentions known.

The Acoustic Love-themed wedding, bathed in navy blue, rose gold, and hues of raspberry, perfectly mirrored their shared passion for music and creativity. The ceremony took place at Emmanuel Apostolic Church, George’s Valley in Mandeville, and was officiated by Bishop C Everton Thomas. The reception, held at the New Testament Church Of God Mandeville-Osbourne Fisher Hall, was an affair to remember, graced by the presence of close family and friends.

Richard was dashing in a suit from Designs by Marc Limited, while his bride Santeio was picture-perfect in a lace gown complete with sweetheart neckline and floating sleeves from Sweetest Weddings Jamaica. Her bouquet was a classic arrangement of roses that incorporated the wedding colours. Fanciful Decor transformed the reception hall into an acoustic love wonderland, while Vintage Platter designed a delectable wedding cake with flavours of red velvet and cheesecake.

The reception was an easy blend of humour, emotion, and love. Guests enjoyed toasts, a surprising duet from the bride’s parents, and games. And of course, the carefully chosen music set the perfect tone for the day, from the processional to the signing of the register and the recessional.

How Deep Is Your Love by PJ Morton featuring Yebba played for the bridesmaids while Can’t Help Falling in Love with You by Hailey Reinhart echoed through the halls for the bride’s entrance. Acoustic instrumentals serenaded the ceremony, while Whitney Houston’s I Believe in You and Me played during the signing of the register. The couple joyously exited to the sounds of the Brighter Day Mix.
