Kash Promise Move

With the local music industry having been reputed as a brutal, “cut-throat” business in which only the best of the best manage to forge a stable and successful career, very few up-and-coming acts have managed to secure collaborations with artistes considered to be the “big guns”. Yet, in just under five years, newcomer Kash Promise Move has landed huge collaborations with acts such as Jada Kingdom and Chronic Law and was under the tutelage of artiste manager extraordinaire, Romeich Major.

As cliché as it may sound, the 22-year-old expressed that every accomplishment in his career thus far has been the result of sheer hard work.

“Being a new artiste who has only been doing music professionally since 2018, landing features with mainstream artistes like Jada Kingdom wasn’t easy. I was working so hard, and I was putting out some nice songs that I knew the people would love, especially the ladies — girl songs like Tek It and Ride It. Apparently, Jada heard about me and reached out saying she wanted to be a part of my song,” he said.

“I knew that single (Ride) was a hit song, but I was amazed that Jada really wanted to be a part of it. And she went hard on the collab and brought it a lot of attention. I am forever grateful for that.”

The entertainer was recently featured on the début rhythm for fashion designers-turned-producers Bridge Boyz.

He told the Jamaica Observer that working with Bridge Records helped him to restructure his career, as they treated him as an established talent and not someone who has only been doing music for a short time.

“It was so exciting working with Bridge Records and Bling Blang. The production was amazing and helped me restructure my career and set it back to a place where substance is the focus. The song on their rhythm tells my story. It’s called You Don’t See Mine and it highlights what my journey in music has been like. I sang it from my heart,” he shared, pointing to the song’s success so far.

“People are showing it so much love. It gained more than 100K views on YouTube in the first two weeks of its release.”

The entertainer, who will celebrate his birthday in style next month with a huge bash featuring Chronic Law, Silk Boss, Armanii, Laa Lee and Jahmiel, said he has so much more in store for the local music fraternity.

“I just released my song, called Link Pass Dem with Chronic Law, and I have my début EP coming up. It will be called Unrivalled and I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. The calibre of music will leave you speechless. I am aiming for hits with this project,” he said.

“And, I have a lot more features coming up, so stay tuned and look out for Kash Promise Move doing big things.”
