Alexis James named Island Grill’s first brand ambassador
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Former Petersfield High standout Alexis James has been named Island Grill’s first official brand ambassador.
The partnership was announced on Wednesday at the Mico University where James is pursuing a degree in Physical Education and Sports.
As part of the deal, Island Grill also committed to paying $500,000 annually to the athlete’s undergraduate education.
James, who is a member of the Racers Track Club, was a silver medallist in the 100m hurdles at last year’s World Under-20 Championships at Cali, Colombia. She was also a member of the gold medal-winning 4x100m relay team that broke the World Under-20 record in Nassau, Bahamas.
James also won gold at the Carifta Games in the 100m hurdles in a championships record of 13.06 seconds.
