Bartley’s All-In-Wood, Jamaica Deaf Village plant trees on National Tree Planting Day
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – In a display of community collaboration and commitment to environmental sustainability, Bartley’s All-In-Wood Limited, a woodwork company in Mandeville, Manchester, joined with the Jamaica Deaf Village (JDV) and the Forestry Department of Jamaica on Friday, to commemorate National Tree Planting Day.
During the day’s activities employees from various departments, including board members, the sales department, the quality control department, production, and the operations & design departments of Bartley’s, came together to plant trees in honour of the day, Bartley’s said in a statement.
“The primary objective of this initiative was not to turn a profit but to enhance our social responsibility by replenishing the natural resources our industry relies upon,” the woodwork company stated.
Over the course of the day a total of 20 trees, which were provided by the Forestry Department of Jamaica, were planted.
“The event’s collaborative spirit was further emphasised with the participation of 11 Bartley’s team members, one visitor, and two individuals from the Jamaica Deaf Village, all working hand in hand to plant these essential trees,” Bartley’s said.
For its part, JDV stated that it is on a mission to build an arboretum of 10 acres to attract birds and people for recreation and also for edutainment.
“In the future, there will be construction of gazebos and nature trails to allow for wholesome fun and appreciation of nature and the environment,” the statement read.
“Bartley’s remains committed to its role as a responsible corporate citizen and is dedicated to fostering a culture of sustainability and environmental consciousness. We are immensely proud of the partnership with the Jamaica Deaf Village and the Forestry Department of Jamaica and look forward to many more collaborations in the future,” the woodwork company added.
