Jason DaCosta holds aces in Princess Popstar Trophy
Six juveniles are down to contest the 5th running of the $1.09-million Princess Popstar trophy, a Restricted Allowance 1 event for native-bred and imported two-year-olds over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m).
Below is the analysis of the runners.
1. HIMAYA: (2 rn f by Casual Trick – Raksha) – The most experienced runner in the line-up with three runs under her girth. Himaya has yet to impress other than her second place behind stablemate Lucy In The Sky on August 26, so she is expected not to have a say here but could run well.
2. GRECIAN LIGHT: (2 b f by Girvin – Mo Zin) – The only runner in the line-up who is not trained by Jason DaCosta. Grecian Light is not expected to challenge for top honour here.
3. BANADURA: (2 b f by Casual Trick – Esperanza) – Made an impressive debut on August 1 when putting away rivals by over 6 lengths over three furlongs (600m). Banadura looks to be a good one and could make it win number two on the trot.
4. COMEHOMETOME: (2 b f by Northern Giant – Heart of Gold) – Nicely-bred runner who looks to be of worth. Comehometome should make a first good impression here.
5. DIGITAL ONE: (2 b f by Uncle Lino – Legal Redemption) – Good looker who is expected to be competitive here. Digital One has been working well for this race and could get off the mark the first time of asking.
