Is That A Fact looks good for I’msatisfied Trophy
Is That A Fact, the well-decorated American-bred colt from the powerhouse barn of trainer Jason DaCosta, seeks his fifth-consecutive win in the third running of the $1.4-million I’msatisfied Trophy, the main attraction on today’s 10-race card at Caymanas Park.
Bred by Palace Malice out of the Valid Expectation mare Valid Code, Is That A Fact is without a doubt one of the most-improved horses in training at present, and on paper he is easily the obvious choice here.
Is That A Fact comes into this race on the back end of four-straight victories, and has done so impressively as well. Is That A Fact‘s last win came in the Poorlittlerichgirl Trophy over seven furlongs (1,400m) on September 16 in which he won by a short head over Blue Vinyl in a time of 1:25.2.
Is That A Fact should enjoy this journey of six furlongs (1,200m) more and could put these away easily. He has worked exceptional well coming into this race, having clocked an impressive 1:13.1 for six furlongs on Sunday, October 1. Expect another win from Is That A Fact here. Leading rider Reyan Lewis remains in the saddle for the fifth-consecutive time.
The Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward is positioned as the ninth event on the card with a post time of 4:35 pm. First race is at 11:30 am.
Based on quality and class, the only horse in the field that could put Is That A Fact to the test is fellow American-bred Jordon Reign’s.
On September 16, the Peter-John Parsard trainee was supposed to compete in the Poorlittlerichgirl Trophy, but she finished fourth behind Is That A Fact. That was Jordon Reign’s second race after an eight-month sabbatical following a stellar 2022 racing season in which he won five of nine races. Jordon Reign’s, who has two runs under his belt this season, should be cherry ripe for this event. Jordon Reign’s has raced over this distance twice and won both times. Jordon Reign’s should put up a good fight here.
Of the remaining runners in the eight-horse field, expect good showing from Lure of Lucy, Perfect Brew, and Rojorn Di Pilot.
Lure of Lucy, a stablemate of Is That A Fact, is capable runner who always runs a fair race. Lure of Lucy came home in fifth position behind stablemate She’s My Destiny in the None Such Sprint over six furlongs on September 9 and should run an improved race.
Perfect Brew continues to do well at this level as his last three runs in the class have been a win, a second place finish, and a third place finish. The Richard Azan-trained Perfect Brew was third by third lengths behind Is That A Fact in the Poorlittlerichgirl on September 16 where he was seen making strong headway in deep stretch.
Rojorn Di Pilot has been a model of consistency where most of his win came over the straight course. He was a winner over the straight on September 2, clocking 59.0 to beat I’ve Got Magic. Rojorn di Pilot also goes well riding the bend and could be competitive here.
