Submachine gun, ammo found under tree

ST ANN, Jamaica – A police operation in Faiths Pen, Moneague, St Ann on Friday led to the seizure of a submachine gun and 30 assorted rounds of ammunition.

No one was arrested in connection to the find.

Reports are that about 4:10 pm, lawmen were in the area when a search of a section of the roadway was conducted and the submachine gun and ammunition were found wrapped in pieces of clothing and inside a bag underneath a tree.

Investigation continues.
