Farmer on the run after allegedly chopping man to death
ST MARY, Jamaica — A 48-year-old farmer suspected of killing a 24-year-old man during an altercation is now on the run.
He is being sought by the police.
According to police sources, residents stumbled upon the body of Javaughn “Jar” Patterson on the Windsor main road in Carron Hall, St Mary around 5:00 am on Thursday, October 12. The Highgate police were called and observed that Patterson had chop wounds to his head, hands, neck and feet.
Residents reported that earlier in the day Patterson had an altercation with a farmer who allegedly inflicted the chop wounds. It is said that the men have been engaged in a long-running feud stemming from a fire at Patterson’s house earlier this year.
