Deejay/actor E-Dee completes what he describes as a year of “immense satisfaction” by releasing Zum Zum, a song produced by his longtime collaborator, Qmillion.

The risqué single was released in October.

“Zum Zum is a song with a positive love, carefree, and upbeat vibe. It’s about enjoying life, sunshine, and good times. It’s the kind of song that can instantly lift your spirits, very catchy and make you want to dance or just make you feel a likkle happiness in the moment,” E-Dee explained.

For much of 2023, he has been in the recording studio with Qmillion, an American producer whose credits include songs by Paula Abdul, Billy Preston and After 7.

He told Observer Online that Zum Zum is one of 21 songs he wrote for a new album scheduled for release in 2024. Elevate, the last of his three albums, was released in 2022.

For E-Dee, recording new songs and snaring movie roles made 2023 a productive year.

“The creative collaborations and projects I’ve been a part of this year, especially those that have allowed me to connect with the African audience have brought immense satisfaction, as they’ve allowed me to explore my craft in new and exciting ways. Also, my promo tour in Jamaica this summer, along with attending the premiere for Mother In Law” in which I played a role,” he said.

Clarendon-born E-dee plays a kidnapper in Mother In Law which stars Vivica A Fox and Miguel A Nunez. Other movies on his resume include the autobiographical Out The Gate and Temperature Rising.

He was in Jamaica in July promoting Michigesso, his song with Canadian singer Megan Soo.
