Farewell ‘Winty’
DISTINGUISHED public health specialist and former legislator Professor Dr Winston “Winty” Davidson was laid to rest Wednesday at the Jewish cemetery on Orange Street in Kingston.
Many prominent Jamaicans, among them former Prime Minister PJ Patterson, Opposition Leader Mark Golding, Vin Lawrence, Dr Winston Dawes, Dr Warren Blake, Beverley Manley Duncan, former national footballers Neville Oxford and Derrick Denniser, turned out to support Davidson’s family at the burial service held inside the chapel at the cemetery.
Jewish spiritual leader Stephen Henriques officiated the short service.
Dr Davidson passed on Sunday at University Hospital of the West Indies after a short illness.
