DEADLOCK
The Reggae Girlz missed out on automatic qualification for next year’s inaugural Concacaf W Gold Cup following a 1-1 draw with Panama in their qualification match at the National Stadium in Kingston on Wednesday night.
After going behind through a Marta Cox penalty in minute 30, the Jamaicans equalised in the 45th minute, thanks to a Shaneil Buckley volley.
However, the Girlz were unable to find a winner which meant Panama topped the group. The Girlz will now need to beat Guatemala on Sunday to make the play-offs to get one of the remaining three spots for the W Gold Cup tournament.
