Cops intercept car with stolen goats in Clarendon, charges driver
CLARENDON, Jamaica – A man who was reportedly held with three stolen goats along the Mocho main road in Clarendon has been charged.
Charged with larceny of cattle (goats) is 29-year-old Kevon Rowe from Clarendon Gardens in Four Paths in the parish.
It was reported that on Sunday, January 21, a team from the Mocho police station was on patrol when they received information of men in a white motorcar suspected to have stolen goats.
The intelligence revealed that the men were heading to the Four Paths area. As a result, a 2017 white Toyota Axio motorcar was intercepted by the police and Rowe seen aboard.
Checks by the police found three goats, one inside the cab behind the driver’s seat and two in the trunk.
The accused initially ran away from the vehicle but shortly afterward returned and handed himself in, the police said.
The goat owners later identified the animals, and statements were subsequently recorded from them. On Tuesday, the accused was charged.
