FA Cup big feature — Spurs against Manchester City

FA Cup big feature — Spurs against Manchester City

JustBet offers Chelsea at odds of $2.00 to beat Aston Villa

FA Cup action takes centre stage in England this weekend with some tasty matchups taking place.

There will be two mouth-watering encounters among those games. Firstly, Chelsea will host high-flying Aston Villa in an eagerly anticipated clash, then later today, free-scoring and in-form Tottenham will play host to red-hot Manchester City in an expected goal fest that should have fans on the edge of their seats.

Event # 1 – FA Cup – Chelsea vs Aston Villa – 2:45 PM

In a stunning Carabao Cup semi-final display on Tuesday, Chelsea annihilated championship side Middlesbrough 6-1 to book a spot in the final against either Fulham or Liverpool, who will play each other in midweek. After failing to lead Tottenham to silverware during his five years at the club, Coach Mauricio Pochettino could mark his first year at Chelsea with an EFL trophy, which has eluded him in English football.

The 6-1 battering dished out on Middlesbrough made it seven home wins on the trot for Chelsea in all competitions, and they are also on an eight-game win streak at home in the FA Cup. However, with the exciting and in-form Aston Villa next at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea might be hard-pressed to extend their FA Cup winning streak to nine games.

While Chelsea battered Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup to advance to the final, visitors Aston Villa cruised pass the same opponents to set up this FA Cup clash with Chelsea.

Aston Villa might be flying high in the Premier League but in FA Cup campaigns they have struggled; incredibly, it’s been 24 years since Villa last won an FA Cup match away to a fellow Premier League side.

Interestingly, not since 2010 have Chelsea and Aston Villa played out a 0-0 draw, which would suggest that many goals could be on the cards — Villa had secured back-to-back wins and back-to-back clean sheets over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 2023, offering hopes to the Aston Villa hopefuls that they could secure all three points in the contest.

KEY STATS
Chelsea – are unbeaten in their last four FA Cup meetings with Aston Villa, they last met in an FA Cup game in 2010 where Chelsea won 3-0.
Aston Villa – have won their last two Premier League matches against Chelsea but have won just five of their last 13 away matches in all competitions.
Both sides – both these teams have met nine times in FA Cup action thus far, with Aston Villa leading 5-3 with wins and one game ended in a draw.
The betting Tip. Aston Villa win.
Event # 2 FA Cup – Tottenham vs Man City – 3:00 PM
Tottenham will be aiming to end their 16 years wait for a trophy in English football but will have to overcome the mighty and reigning FA Cup champions Manchester City if they are to end this drought.
That is by no means an easy task to accomplish, with Manchester City on a six-game win streak following a dip in form, but Tottenham fans will be hopeful of a win at home as Tottenham have been a bogey team for Manchester City in recent years and have won five of the last nine meetings between both sides. Indeed, Tottenham enter this crucial match in good form having four consecutive wins at home and held City to a 3-3 draw at the Etihad earlier in the season.
Manchester City enter this clash in red-hot form having gone unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions, winning six games on the trot during this run. Indeed, City head into this game on a high having defeated Newcastle 3-2 away in their last league match, with star player Kevin de Bruyne marking his return from injury with a goal and a last-minute assist to secure the win. With that said, this will be an interesting match as, Tottenham have won their last four home matches in all competitions, scoring 10 goals during this run and more impressively, they have won their last five home matches against Manchester City. Interestingly, all four of Man City’s losses this season have come on the road, which makes this matchup such a highly anticipated clash.
KEY STATS
Tottenham – have scored two or more goals in 16 of their last 21 matches in all competitions.
Manchester City – have scored two or more goals in eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions.

Both sides – Manchester City have just one win against Tottenham in their last five meetings, suffering three defeats during this run. Tottenham’s last game ended 2-2, City’s last game ended 3-2, and when both teams met earlier this season, it ended 3-3, so expect goals again.

The betting Tip. Both teams to score – GG.
