Digita Global keeping a firm fingerprint on digital technologies

Evolving as one of the country’s premier 360-marketing agencies in less than a decade, Digita Global Marketing (DGM) Limited, guided by the pursuit of excellence, is seeking to build out its presence as a regional and international powerhouse possessed with serious ambitions and plans that aims to revolutionise the tech, media, and advertising landscape.

The company, founded almost eight years ago by creative entrepreneur and group Chairman Kemal Brown, said it specialises in interactive media experiences and the creation of bespoke and innovative websites as well as expressive visual identities as it prides itself as a Caribbean-based globally minded digital marketing agency.

Established on the back of grief following the death of a loved one and a small capital investment of approximately $45,000 earned from his first visual identity project, the company’s aim, Brown said, is to “leave a distinctive mark on all it comes in contact with while moving the world forward”— a vision which he believes is perfectly befitting of the company’s logo, which is represented by a fingerprint.

“Our mission is to elevate the global media landscapes, taking them above industry standards, while leaving our distinctive fingerprint on all that we touch, while moving the world forward.

“DGM, as a comprehensive performance marketing agency, is founded on the principle of Kaizen and the excellence it espouses. While the firm began purely as a digital agency, it is now a 360 agency—one moving beyond traditional paradigms to encompass all aspects of marketing, cutting across branding, web and app development, content creation, production, and strategic consultancy. Our aim is to offer clients complete services while ensuring that every aspect of their marketing needs is met with precision and innovation,” Brown noted.

Brown, as a visionary founder in strategically building the business from the ground up, indicated that his academic background buttressed by studies in a number of social science and business disciplines along with his growing professional profile as a formally inducted member of the Forbes Business Council have all helped him to launch the entity which today is famously known for its ability to take on no debt to propel its growth.

Led by a strong management team, DGM’s board of directors is also made up of a number of experienced business personnel, including Barita’s Ramon Small Ferguson, Tropical Battery’s Alexander Melville, and Mikhail Jackson, a partner at Livingston, Alexander and Levy — all of whose expertise adds to its growing success. The CEO’s advantage as a recognised global speaker and digital leader who, having delivered over 250 talks on innovation, technology, and digital futures across five continents, has also helped to strengthen the company’s growth position.

A subsidiary of the larger Digita Global Group of companies, DGM’s services spreads across a number of services in graphic designs, social media content creation, advertising, web development, branding, and cinematography, all of which aims to improve the daily lives of clients while providing them with socially impactful media solutions and more profitable businesses. The group’s subsidiaries also span other companies in communications, real estate, venture capital, technology, and finance.

“We have a dedicated team of 20 professionals, primarily based in Jamaica, but we also benefit greatly from a growing network of support staff contributing from various corners of the globe,” Brown said.

Copping a number of top awards in the last few years from recognised platforms, such as the Scotia Bank Vision Achiever Programme, the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship, the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce’s Best of Chamber nomination award in the medium-sized business category, DGM’s success, its management said, remains ongoing with no plans to slow down anytime soon, especially now as it seek to forge new partnerships.

“We are very proud of our partnerships, having been able to work with a number of listed companies, including GraceKennedy, Mailpac, Elite Diagnostic, Sygnus Group, Lasco Financial, and a whole host of other public sector institutions — all of which have helped to make our journey more fulfilling despite the challenges,” Brown said.

Highlighting another special partnership it shared with the JMMB’s Resource Centre, the digital agency, in assisting hundreds of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), said it is also very proud to have been able to not only develop e-commerce platforms and a greater online presence for small businesses since the pandemic but to have also helped SMEs to maximise their returns on investments while exposing them to a range of other digital solutions.

“We’re excited to play a role in elevating the digital readiness and contributing to the digital transformation of the local and regional companies this partnership will allow us to serve,” Brown had said during the signing of a memorandum of understanding at the time.

The company, which the CEO said is to become even more ready for increased partnerships in 2024, is now gearing up for a new wave of future expansions.

“In early 2024 we are set to unveil our dual creative spaces — Studio D (DGM’s multimedia studio) and Enigma (the company’s foray into coworking), providing a dedicated space for creatives to collaborate, ideate and create. These spaces will offer groundbreaking services that will introduce innovative amenities never seen before in Jamaica, such as sleeper pods. We have coined the synergy between the two spaces, which will side by side become the Creative Collective,” he said, in outlining some of the upcoming plans.

“Given our present trajectory, we see boundless opportunities ahead. Operating in a continuous growth mode, we are expanding organically even as we actively seek out those inorganic growth opportunities. By exploring new partnerships and/or acquisitions we are looking at companies offering complementary services that can be vertically integrated,” Brown stated.

“In line with our growth trajectory, we are exploring various options to support the exciting possibilities for our continued expansion. We have recently registered a US-based subsidiary, DGM USA LLC, to explore lucrative opportunities in that market, and we see this as the beginning of a new, exciting journey,” he said in closing.
