Super Bowl was the most-watched program ever in the US, averaging 123.4 million viewers
Sunday’s Super Bowl game on Sunday is now the most-watched programme in US television history.
According to The Associated Press, data from the Nielsen and Adobe Analytics, show that Kansas City’s 25-22 overtime victory over San Francisco on Sunday night averaged 123.4 million viewers across television and streaming platforms.
That surpassed last year’s mark of 115.1 million by 7 per cent.
The game was televised by CBS, Nickelodeon and Univision and streamed on Paramount+ as well as the NFL’s digital platforms.
Nielsen also said a record 202.4 million watched at least part of the game across all networks, a 10 per cent jump over last year’s figure of 183.6 million.
This Super Bowl was attended by countless celebrities including Taylor Swift, Jay Z, Ice Spice, Saweetie, Gabriel Union and many others.
This year’s half-time show was headlined by RnB superstar Usher, who brought out the likes of Alicia Keys, Ludacris, H.E.R and a host of others during his set.
