#Champs2024: Munro’s Johnson; Calabar’s Williams top finalists for Class 2 boys’ high jump
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Selethel Johnson of Munro College and Kijaun Williams of Calabar High are heading into the final of the Class 2 boys’ high jump as the top qualifiers at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Johnson and Williams were the only athletes to clear the qualifying mark of 1.90m.
Happy Grove’s Jaquan Souden, Tejahni Haynes and Zachary Merchant of Kingston College, Cornwall College’s Carlyle Tinglin, Kabiki Thomas of Wolmer’s Boys’, Titchfield High’s Ajarie Bloomfield and Rajae Williams, Jamaica College’s Jaivar Cato, Jayden Wollinston of Herbert Morrison, all recorded a jump of 1.85m.
Zackery Nisbett of Manchester High rounds out the top 12 with a mark of 1.80m.
The final of the Class 2 boys’ high jump is scheduled for Thursday at 4:20pm.
