#Champs2024: PB for Edwin Allen’s Armstrong in Class 1 girls’ 100m semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica – In the semi-final round of the Class 1 girls’ 100m on Wednesday, it was Edwin Allen High’s Jounee Armstrong who came out on top at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships on Wednesday.
Armstrong ran a personal best of 11.54 to win semi-final two. Titchfield High’s Chevauna Grant (11.71) and Habiba Harris of St Elizabeth Technical (11.76) finished second and third, respectively.
Hydel’s Alliah Baker, who is a former 400m runner, ran 11.57 in semi-final one for the win. Mickayla Gardener of Wolmer’s Girls’ finished second in 11.65 while Edwin Allen’s Trezeguet Taylor rounded out the top three in 11.71.
St Catherine’s Asharria Ulett (11.89) and Caneila Hope of Camperdown High (11.98) will also be in the final.
The final of the Class 1 girls’ 100m will take place on Wednesday at 8:23 pm.
