#Champs2024: Edwin Allen’s Armstrong leads field to Class 1 girls’ 200m semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica – After five preliminary rounds contested, Edwin Allen’s Jounee Armstrong emerged the quickest qualifier to Friday’s semi-finals of the Class 1 girls’ 200m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Armstrong clocked 24.41 seconds to top the semi-finalists.
Bellefield High’s Anecia Campbell (24.84); St Catherine High’s Kaycian Johnson (24.43); St Elizabeth Technical’s Shanque Williams (24.74); Wolmerian Mickayla Gardener (24.66); Holmwood Technical’s Sadeena Holder (25.09); Hydel’s Alliah Baker (24.88); Brittney McCormack of Bridgeport High (25.06); Trezeguet Taylor of Edwin Allen (25.05) and Titchfield High’s Chevauna Grant (25.10) are safely through to the next round.
The other qualifiers are Holmwood Technical’s Camio White (25.48); Caneila Hope of Camperdown High (25.51); St Mary High’s Ryana Dennis (24.84); Hydel’s Calah McDonald (25.40); Mickayla Sutherland of Manchester High (25.14) and Bellefield’s Britney-Ann Powell (25.59).
The Class 1 girls’ 200m semis are scheduled for 2:03 pm.
