Be Relevant project brings positive messages
Shevon Henry had a close relationship with his father. When the elder Henry was diagnosed with having brain cancer, he stood by his dad and played an integral role in taking care of him.
Sadly, his father passed away in September last year.
“Me and my dad had a very close relationship, it was an impeccable bond… I had to be there for him through the roughest of times while he battled brain cancer,” said Henry, who is also a recording artiste who goes by the name Jahni C.
Henry made his production debut on March 20 with the release of the various artistes project titled Be Relevant.
The project, he says, was inspired by the death of his father.
“This is my first project as a producer, and it was inspired by my father’s death. It was a trying time, but love, music, prayers, and faith kept me going. I created this album to provide the same kind of encouragement for others who may be going through hard times. No matter what you are going through, be relevant.
Be Relevant is a versatile and inspiring music compilation that is a must-have on any playlist,” said Henry.
Featured on the 14-track project are Bare Tingz by Jahfrican, Couldn’t be Friend by Cali C,
Data by Dropa Don, Believe by Ghandi, Give Thanks by Guzie, Journeying by Iya Tear, Never Forget Prayers by Jim Redz, Your Love by Jodian Pantry, Me She Love by Marlon Chill, Be Free by Nigy Boy, Still in Love by R Mony, Politricks by Steppa, Better Way by Turbulence, and The Father’s Prayer by Jahni C.
Said Henry: “The project took about four months to complete. It’s pure and positive and it’s the navigation of reggae and dancehall music to its origins of soulful music.”
Henry, who has been recording for more than a decade, grew up around music.
Originally from Tel-A-Viv and Spoilers communities in Central Kingston, he now resides in East Orange, New Jersey.
The Be Relevant project was released via Combustion Recordz LLC.
