JCDC performing arts finals run April 16 to May 3
Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) will host its annual Festival of the Performing Arts National Finals from Tuesday, April 16, 2024 to Friday, May 3, 2024.
The festival will showcase an array of creative talents, highlighting in its true sense the Jamaican motto, ‘Out of many, One people.’
The will feature creations across the areas of traditional folk forms, drama and theatre arts, speech, dance, deaf dance, drumfest and music, affording the performers the opportunity to cop a national title within these respective areas.
Admission to the national finals is free; however, there is limited seating capacity at the venues.
The activities will however be live-streamed on the JCDC YouTube page.
Tuesday, April 16 will start with traditional folk forms in to Wednesday at the Little Theatre.
Drama will run from Thursday, April 18 to Friday, April 19 at the same venue.
Vera Moody Hall at Edna Manley will host music entries on Sunday, April 21, with the speech fest starting on Monday, April 22 at Little Theatre.
Drumfest closes the festival on Friday, May 3 at Emancipation Park at 4:00 pm.
