Tasha T to drop Jamaica It Nice vid

Recording artiste Tasha T is in preparation mode to release the official music video for the track
Jamaica It Nice.

The singer noted that the video will boast the beauty of the island, in keeping with the main theme of the track.

“The video shoot took place in Kingston. Places included Port Royal, Norman Manley Kingston Airport, Jungle — where my family is from — Grand Market Place, Gabre Selassie’s Place, and the ‘look-out point’ up Red Hills,” she told the Jamaica Observer.

“The overall concept is basically showing the vibes of the Jamaican people, and the activities. No matter how hard things look and regardless of the crime and violence, Jamaica is still nice. Therefore, this song is to encourage foreigners and the Jamaican people from abroad to overcome their fears and visit Jamaica, their homeland,” said Tasha T.

The video was directed by G Mac City Lock (Reggae Tropics) and its début is expected between May 31 and June 1.

Jamaica It Nice was released in time for Emancipation Day last year. It was a joint production between HeyMan Entertainment and the singer’s own label, RasVibe Records Inc, along with Patchy, Fatta Marshall and Danny Maestro.

Since its release, listeners have been sharing encouraging responses:

“A lot of people love the song and sing it word for word. It’s a very catchy chorus line that people can easily gravitate to it,” she said.

Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Tasha T has stayed close to reggae music through her career which has spanned almost 20 years. The singer also lends her hand to philanthropy as the founder of the Tasha T Learning Foundation. She has hosted several events in Jamaica, such the third annual Red Gold and Green Affair in Port Royal at Gloria’s Sports Bar. Held on July 22, 2023, the event was well attended, with the vibes and positive ambiance in full effect.

In the meantime, the artiste has her hands full with several forthcoming projects.

“I’m still working on my album with producer/songwriter Paul “Patchy” Wright. I’m also working on an all-women project with Belinda Brady and Eddie Bullen. The Bullen Learning Network (BLN) collaborated with some of Toronto’s finest female singers. I’m very excited about this one,” she said.

Tasha T is also slated to perform at the Reggae R US Festival, Saturday Night Rockers Series, her Red Gold and Green birthday celebration, Jamaica Day, Reggae Extravaganza, and the inaugural Reggae Ambassador Awards Show and Concert and Rasta Fest.

She is best known for songs like Bed of Fire, Only A Woman Knows, Mouth A Matic, Win Or Lose, Fire In Me and SMH (Social Media Hype).
