Bog Walk Gorge impassable due to flooding
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— The National Works Agency is advising the public to avoid the Bog Walk Gorge as it is flooded due to heavy rains.
The agency issued an urgent warning on social media a short while ago.
“Impassable! The Bog Walk Gorge is now impassable. The river is now in spate and is now flowing over the Flat Bridge. Do not use the Gorge Road at this time!” a post to X, formerly Twitter read.
Parishes across Jamaica received increased rainfall Tuesday afternoon, as a Tropical Wave progressed towards the island.
According to the Meteorological Service of Jamaica, the system is expected to bring showers through to Friday.

It warned that periods of thunderstorms are also likely.
