Watchman allegedly steals $76,500 from institution he guards
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A watchman who allegedly stole $76,500 from the establishment he works and has access to, has been charged with house breaking and larceny.
He has been identified as 25-year-old Omar Walker, otherwise called ‘Luke’ of Bullet Tree district, Old Harbour in St Catherine.
It is alleged that Walker used keys to open the door to the lobby of an institution in Braeton, Portmore in St Catherine and stole cash amounting to $76,500. He reportedly left by way of entry.
The incident happened some time between Wednesday, May 22 and Monday, May 27.
The police said Walker was apprehended and was subsequently charged after an interview on Wednesday, June 5.
His court date is being finalised.
