WATCH: Commuters at ‘Price Rite’ voice frustration with protesting cabbies
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – Commuters at the section of Chancery Street in St Andrew, more popularly known as Price Rite, voiced their frustrations after being stranded for the second straight day as taxi operators continue strike action across the island.
Commuters say the strike is affecting them severely as many of them have been unable to make it to work. At least one student told Observer Online that she will have to plead with teachers to accommodate an exam reschedule as she was unable to make it to school on Tuesday. Taxi operators first withdrew their services on Monday in protest of the issue of suspension of drivers’ licence on account of accumulated demerit points.
