Chiney K to represent Jamaica in China
Lifestyle influencer Chiney K has been selected to represent Jamaica in China as part of the ‘China In My Camera’ blogger campaign.
Facilitated by the China International Press Center (CIPC), the campaign provides bloggers an opportunity to discover China, through a month-long cultural exchange programme.
Speaking to Observer Online about her upcoming trip Chiney K, given name Kerry Ann Collins, noted that she was excited to learn more about China and experience the various cultural sites.
“The fact that Jamaica was selected from the region, I think this speaks volumes to the impact of brand Jamaica. Further, I am elated and humbled that I was the influencer selected to represent Jamaica,” said Collins.
“I am looking forward to experiencing the culture and interacting with the people,” Collins added.
Collins explained that a critical part of being an influencer is helping to inspire people to explore new destinations and provide real-life insights about these destinations to further facilitate better decision-making.
“People have come to trust my judgment, so for me, it is all about keeping it authentic, so people can gain real insights into a destination and the attractions it has to offer,” she said.
“What an Influencer really does is eliminate that pesky trial and error process, helping others to make better decisions, in keeping with their own personalities. In other words, we eliminate the ‘if me did know’ element,” she added.
Additionally, Collins said that her content serves to provide a virtual experience for those who may not be able to visit the destination physically.
Followers will be treated to content on Collin’s visit to China throughout July via her social media channels.
