Beaches Negril hosts free health fair for team members

Scores of team members benefited from a free and vibrant health fair hosted by Beaches Negril Resort and Spa, offering access to a range of wellness services.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness, Westmoreland Health Department and Guardian Group/Guardian Life Limited were among key health entities that provided several services at the event.

Among the services offered were condom demonstrations, HIV/AIDS and syphilis tests, body mass index (BMI), weight and height readings, vision testing, medical checkups and consultations, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, prostate exams and life insurance consultations.

The initiative outlines the resort company’s commitment to the wellbeing of their team members, fostering a supportive and health-conscious work environment.

“If our team members proactively take care of their health, it means more productivity, an enhanced guest experience, and minimised absences. Additionally, for those with underlying issues, they can receive help and guidance in treating these issues,” said Khalil Keddo, hotel manager at Beaches Negril Resort and Spa.

Terrina Davis, employee benefits specialist at Sandals Resort International noted that, “every year we try to make it [health fair] better to implement different areas of services that we can extend.

“Our team members’ health is very important to us, so while they are taking care of our guests, we have to ensure that they are in good health and we are taking care of them just the same,” he said.

The health fair represents a group wide initiative across all Sandals and Beaches Resorts throughout the Caribbean to promote healthy living among employees.
