#NationalTrials: Natoya Goule wins 10th national title
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Natoya Goule cruised to a 10th women’s 800m title after she ran a season’s best 1:59.06 seconds on Friday’s second day of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships at the National Stadium.
Kelly-Ann Beckford of the University of Houston, the 2022 champion was second with 2:01.01 seconds.
Tarees Rhoden of the University of Clemson upset national record holder Navasky Anderson to win the men’s 800m, running 1:45.94 seconds to Anderson’s 1:47.01 seconds.
Tyrese Reid was third in 1:49.68 seconds.
Earlier in the day, Aisha Praught Leer won the women’s 1500m in 4:25.63 seconds, beating national record holder Adelle Tracey- 4:26.44 seconds with Jodian Walker third in 5:51.47 seconds.
Rahiem Walker of St Jago won the men’s 1500m in 4:07.70 seconds, beating Noel Ellis of The University of the West Indies, Mona 4:11.92 seconds with Andrew Powell was third in 4:26.83 seconds.
