Sandals South Coast delivers supplies to families impacted by Beryl

In a gesture of solidarity and support following the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl, Sandals South Coast team members ventured into various communities across Westmoreland and St Elizabeth recently to distribute much-needed supplies to families.

The team visited the homes of shut-ins, businesses and civilians on the streets where they presented packages with non-perishable food items and sanitary supplies to those affected by the hurricane.

The distribution of care packages was met with overwhelming gratitude from the local communities, as many expressed their thanks for the items that were distributed.

Resident of Cave, Westmoreland, Sharon Walcott shared that her family was ecstatic to be considered by the Sandals South Coast team and the act of kindness was perfectly timed.

“The care package came at a time when we needed it the most and while we can’t put into words how grateful we are for the food and supplies, it’s the fact that we were considered that matters most. We’re incredibly appreciative for the assistance,” Walcott said.

Highlighting the resort’s commitment to supporting communities, Sandals South Coast’s Public Relations Manager Ashley Crisp shared that they are pleased to have had such a positive impact.

“Our community members are a big part of who we are and we empathise with those who have been affected by Hurricane Beryl. This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to help our neighbours in times of need, to assure them that we are always here and to strengthen our relationships,” said Crisp who also shared plans to continue the resort’s support with additional distributions of clothing items and school supplies.

These future distributions will be aimed at further aiding children’s homes in both parishes, ensuring that those in State care are also acknowledged.

Anthony Albert is a well-loved vendor close to the resort and the ladies of Sandals South Coast thought it was important to ensure he was also assisted.x
