Man U welcome Liverpool in mouth-watering clash at Old Trafford

JustBet offers Man U at odds of $3.50 to beat Liverpool

The first major derby of the new Premier League season takes place this Sunday as Liverpool travels to the theatre of dreams to battle Man United. But, before that mouth-watering clash, Arsenal will aim to put their title credentials on full display when they host Brighton in another must-see encounter tomorrow, Saturday, August 31.

Event # 1 – EPL – Arsenal vs Brighton – 6:30 AM

Two teams that have won their opening two games on the new season will face-off in an expected thrilling affair as Arsenal host Brighton at the Emirates. The Gunners, Arsenal, will be aiming to continue their fine start to the new campaign after narrowly missing the title to Manchester City in each of the last two seasons. Arsenal made a solid start to their season with an efficient 2-0 over Wolves, then followed that up with an impressive 2-0 away win at a strong Aston Villa side, to make it two wins from two games. Indeed, the win over Aston Villa was a statement win for Arsenal as this was a fixture they lost twice last season.

Brighton have also enjoyed a great start to the new campaign, brushing aside Everton 3-0 in their opening game and then put the league on notice that they will be aiming for a top half finish this season, when they defeated Manchester United at the weekend. Brighton will travel to the Emirates in confident mood having won their last five matches including preseason friendlies. Indeed, the Seagulls, Brighton, will have fond memories of their last visit to Arsenal in May 2023 when they dished out a 3-0 beating to the Gunners.

Key Stats

• Arsenal – Arsenal have won each of their last three matches, keeping clean sheets in each of those wins.

• Brighton – Brighton have scored at least two goals in six of their last seven overall matches.

• Both sides – Brighton have lost three of their last four meetings against Arsenal. When both teams last met, Arsenal won 3-0 on Brighton’s home turf.

The betting Tip. Arsenal win.

Event # EPL – Manchester United vs Liverpool – 10:00 AM

The first major Premier League derby will take place at Old Trafford on Sunday when Manchester United and Liverpool square off in a mouth-watering clash, which will also see Dutch coaches going head-to-head in what could also develop into another fierce rivalry. Indeed, Manchester United got their season off in a less-than impressive fashion as they struggled for long periods before securing an 87th-minute winner against Fulham, they then followed that up with another uninspiring performance away at Brighton last weekend, eventually losing 2-1. With that said, against Liverpool, Manchester United seems to save their best form for this particular fixture, having gone unbeaten in their last three games against these opponents.

No Jurgen Klopp, step forward Arne Slot. Liverpool will travel to their fiercest rivals for a super Sunday showdown against Manchester United in excellent form, having opened the new season with back-to-back wins under their new coach, Arne Slot. Even though Liverpool failed to beat Manchester United last season in three attempts, they have inflicted some of the worse beatings Man United have suffered in the Premier League era, which include a 5-0 thumping at Old Trafford, resulting in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being fired immediately after that match. Indeed, two seasons ago, Liverpool delivered a 7-0 mauling on their rivals at Anfield and, with star player Mohammed Salah starting the season in good goal-scoring form, Liverpool will be confident of securing a result as Salah has made this fixture his own since joining Liverpool in 2017. He has scored 11 times from 13 appearances against the Red Devils and will be aiming to continue his exploits against United.

Key Stats

• Manchester United – Manchester United are unbeaten in their last three home matches against Liverpool, with Liverpool’s last league win at Old Trafford being a 5-0.

• Liverpool – Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 10 overall matches dating back to last season. Indeed, Liverpool only lost three of their last 19 away league matches last season.

• Both sides – Last season, both matches ended in draws, 2-2 at Old Trafford and 0-0 at Anfield, the most common result in this fixture in 2-1, with 10 matches ending in this scoreline.

The betting Tip. Draw.
