Creative Factory, iKon Media launch GoalPost

As Jamaica continues to make strides in the global film and movie industries, The Creative Factory and iKon Media — two of the island’s foremost creative agencies — have joined forces to establish GoalPost, a state-of-the-art post-production suite that promises to raise the bar in post-production excellence.

Jason McNeish, of The Creative Factory, shared his excitement about this groundbreaking collaboration, highlighting how it unites the unique strengths, innovation, and creative prowess of both teams.

“Our goal is to deliver cutting-edge editing solutions that meet the dynamic needs of the global media and entertainment landscape,” McNeish explained.

Wentworth Kelly, co-founder and production director at Ikon Media, brings a wealth of experience in cinematography and post-production supervision to this venture. His extensive industry knowledge and hands-on expertise position him perfectly to spearhead this much-needed facility.

“When our films were showcased internationally we saw the stark contrast in presentation and realised a significant gap in our local infrastructure,” Kelly remarked. “Jamaica is brimming with talent, but we need the right tools and facilities to fully bring our creative visions to life.”

The post-production suite is equipped with a Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 system for crafting immersive audio experiences, alongside advanced calibrated technology for precise colour grading, correction, and look development. This set-up guarantees accurate and consistent colour reproduction across film, TV, and digital formats, ensuring a theatrical-quality experience. The suite is designed to meet the highest standards in both sound and visual post-production.

Located at 76 Marcus Garvey Drive, the new facility will serve as a premier post-production hub, bridging critical gaps in production workflows and post-production processes. The focus will be on enhancing local capabilities and providing high-quality services that meet international standards.

The team is also dedicated to fostering growth and skill development within the industry. They will offer a range of training opportunities, including workshops, short courses, and masterclasses, led by both local and international experts. These programmes are designed to equip Jamaican professionals with the technical skills and knowledge necessary to elevate their work on the global stage.
