SCOTIABANK Jamaica marked a milestone on August 24, 2024, celebrating its 135th anniversary of unbroken service to Jamaica. The bank, which first opened its doors in 1889, remains the only bank in the country to have operated under the same name since its inception. To commemorate this historic occasion Scotiabank hosted and participated in a series of activities aimed at engaging clients, employees, and the wider community.

The celebrations kicked off with a vibrant day at Scotiabank Centre, the head office branch, where clients were treated to a mix of exciting giveaways and entertainment. As part of the anniversary festivities, Scotiabank ensured its employees were at the heart of the celebrations. Leading up to the anniversary, the bank celebrated Employee Appreciation Week, which featured a series of activities including trivia games and prize giveaways. The contributions of the bank’s longest-serving employees were also recognised, highlighting their dedication and commitment to Scotiabank’s legacy.
