JWN Foundation hails volunteers
J Wray & Nephew (JWN) Foundation celebrated International Volunteer Day on Thursday, October 5 by recognising its dedicated workers who contributed 1,622 volunteer hours in 2024, eclipsing last year’s 900 hours.
Through 10 key interventions across education, social inclusion and culture, volunteers helped deliver transformative community initiatives including scholarship programmes — valued at more than $167 million — benefiting 199 students; youth development projects in the Spanish Town Road, Appleton, and New Yarmouth areas; and creative arts training in disc jockeying and music production for 20 students.
The foundation announced two new recognition programmes for 2025: a Top Location Award to promote healthy competition between company locations, and the MD Passion Award to celebrate outstanding individual volunteers based on peer nominations.
