Bayka headlines Pure Ultra Lounge anniversary celebrations

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica — Dancehall artiste Bayka brought the excitement as the headline act for the second anniversary celebrations for entertainment hotspot Pure Ultra Lounge here last Saturday.

Bayka made an energetic entrance on-stage at minutes after 3:00 am and declared it was the “girls’ dem shift” quickly delving into his catalogue of songs, including Sidung, Top Tier, and More and More. He had the female patrons in a frenzy as they jostled for the front of the stage to touch and record the artiste as he performed.

Switching gears, he went into grittier songs such as Mobster, Statistic and 1UpTown, but still kept the attention of the patrons. Bayka swung it back to the ladies with his big hit
She Like It and had to apologise for not singing it earlier after calls from the crowd requested it.

Dancehall artiste 10Tik preceded Bayka’s performance and gave a good account of himself drawing ‘forwards’ from the crowd, especially for his big hit Roll Deep.

Opening act Elusive from Montego Bay was able to get the attention of the crowd during a quick stint on stage.

Montego Bay’s own DJ Jigga and Kingston-based DJ Spoogy took care of the musical juggling on the night and kept the energy going with music across genres with Masicka’s current hit Whites earning the biggest crowd response for the night. Both DJs played off each other, dropping witty banter in-between songs to keep the festive vibe going.

“We’re only in our second year but we have been steadily building our brand as an entertainment hub. Pure Ultra Lounge has that eclectic ambiance and top-notch service, and we just added to it by pulling out all the stops to mark this milestone. This is cementing our reputation as a major entertainment hotspot. Tonight is really a continuation of what we have been doing with guest performances from top-flight artistes. Earlier in the year we had Malie Donn and Tommy Lee Sparta, so we’re just ramping it up from here on out,” said Romario Ramcharan, director, Pure Ultra Lounge.

“Our goal has always been to provide a top-tier entertainment experience, and tonight’s celebration is a testament to our commitment to that vision. The second anniversary celebration was a clear indication that the lounge is poised to make a lasting impact on Montego Bay’s entertainment landscape, setting the stage for bigger things to come,” Ramcharan added.
