Harry Douglas, former MP for St Mary South East, has died

ST MARY, Jamaica – Former People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament for St Mary South Eastern, Harry Douglas has died.

Douglas passed away on Saturday at St Joseph’s Hospital in Kingston after a long illness. He was 83.

Douglas served as St Mary South Eastern MP from 1989 to 2007, when he retired from representational politics. During his political career he also served as minister of state in the Ministry of Water and Housing.

A senior member of the PNP’s executive body in St Mary South East said the party is grateful for Douglas’ contribution to the constituency and the nation at large.

Douglas is survived by his wife Denise and children.
