Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited (CPJ) pulled out all the stops for a surprise birthday celebration for dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel on January 6.

“Our brand recognises the significant impact Vybz Kartel has had on the local and global music industry. He is a cultural icon whose artistry resonates deeply with our target audience. Supporting Vybz Kartel allows us to align with the vibrant Jamaican culture and showcase our commitment to celebrating local talent that inspires and connects communities,” Andrew Wilson, senior brand manager for Str8 Vybz Rum and co-owner of One Park, told the Jamaica Observer.

The celebration, which was endorsed by the brand Remy Martin Luc Belair, saw the attendance of Kartel’s immediate family including his mother, children and grandchildren, as well as his fiancée.

Wilson was pleased with the success of the event.

“The birthday event was a tremendous success, exceeding our expectations in terms of turnout, engagement, and positive feedback. It brought together fans, industry professionals, and community members in a celebratory atmosphere, reinforcing the cultural relevance of both Vybz Kartel and our brand. The event also generated strong media coverage and social media buzz, significantly increasing our brand visibility,” he said.

CPJ has also been showing their support of the deejay through the distribution of his latest rum line, Str8 Vybz Rum.

Wilson noted that there will be a continued sustainable business relationship between the entity and the entertainer.

“We value authentic partnerships, and working with Vybz Kartel opens doors to innovative collaborations that resonate with our audience. We are exploring opportunities to create meaningful projects that celebrate Jamaican culture, music, and talent, ensuring mutual growth and impact,” he said, adding that the brand has always been heavily invested in entertainment as it aligns with its mission to empower Jamaican talents.
