KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Culture, Olivia Grange will outline the plans and events for Reggae Month 2025 during a presentation in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, January 28.

This celebration, which has become renowned as the world’s only month-long celebration of reggae music, is observed during February and will feature a range of events including public concerts, panel discussions and other cultural showcases which highlight the growth and development of this Jamaican music form.

The minister’s presentation to her fellow parliamentarians in Gordon House and the nation will allow for an exploration of the details of the events which commence on February 1 and run into the first few days of March.

Reggae Month is an annual celebration dedicated to recognising and appreciating the influence of reggae music on Jamaica’s social, cultural and economic landscape. The celebration was made official with a proclamation from the then Governor General Sir Kenneth Hall in 2008.

Since its inception, the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport in partnership with industry stakeholders has hosted month-long festivities that have become a cornerstone in honouring the genre’s rich history and its impact on global music culture.

Reggae Month 2025 is being observed under the theme “Come Ketch Di Riddim”.
