Canopy Insurance urges corporate Jamaica to support HTCC’s bumper sticker fundraising campaign
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Chief Executive Officer of Canopy Insurance Limited, Oliver Tomlinson, is urging corporate Jamaica to support the bumper sticker initiative his company is sponsoring, in a creative project to raise funds for Hear The Children’s Cry (HTCC), a vocal child advocacy and support group, and a charitable organisation.
“Canopy is proud to support Hear The Children’s Cry in their mission to protect Jamaica’s children. We believe in the importance of family, child safety, and community responsibility, and this partnership aligns with our commitment to these values. We encourage other businesses to join us in supporting HTCC’s bumper sticker campaign and help create a safer, more nurturing environment for our children’s future,” said Tomlinson.
The bumper sticker initiative is the brainchild of HTCC’s Director Nigel Cooper, who explains, “The concept offered us a way to emphasise a positive message about child safety for the society, while creatively earning revenue for our programmes and projects. HTCC is deeply grateful to Mr Tomlinson and Canopy Insurance for partnering with us for this multi-faceted project.
“We also commend this innovative young insurance company for its important contribution to a range of other worthy social outreaches,” Cooper added.
He pointed to Canopy’s commitment to give back to its communities through initiatives like revamping classrooms at the Salvation Army School for the Blind in 2024, partnering with the Jamaica Independent Schools Association for the 2024–2025 football and netball competitions, and gifting the children at local children’s homes during the Christmas season.
Canopy Insurance was launched in 2019, through a partnership between GraceKennedy (GK) and Musson Group of Companies.
Hear The Children’s Cry was launched by the late Betty Ann Blaine in 2002 and is one of the few organisations that managed to survive through difficult financial times.
It continues to provide strong child advocacy, counselling for children and families, a unique missing children’s support programme supported by Yello Media Group, back-to-school assistance, and school outreach including safety workshops and parent support and guidance.
The bumper stickers are available in bulk or individually, at the HTCC office at 148 Constant Spring Road, or by calling 876-929-0431. 876- 294-8123, or 876- 294-8124.
