U17 Boyz beat St Lucia 3-1 in World Cup qualifier
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Under-17 footballers began their quest for a second berth at the FIFA World Cup with a comfortable 3-1 victory over St Lucia in their Concacaf final-round Group D qualifier at the Cementos Progreso Stadium in Guatemala on Monday.
Seymore Reid opened the scoring in the 12th minute for the young Reggae Boyz, while second-half substitutes Dario White (50th minute) and Jamari Nolan (55th minute) added to the tally for the Altimont Butler-coached team.
Chevaughn Bryon pulled one back for St Lucia in the 73rd minute.
The young Reggae Boyz will now look to build on this performance when they take on the Cayman Islands in their second match in the tournament on Wednesday.
The Cayman Islands and El Salvador are the other teams in the group.
