SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — Jacquan Jackson and Tyson Gordon slammed centuries as Tacky High School brushed aside May Day High in the rural Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association/Grace Headley Cup cricket competition on March 10.

Defending champions Manchester High, many-time winners St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), and Black River High also won on the day.

At Manchester High, the home team beat Vere Technical High by 233 runs. Tesfah Ward made 80 as Manchester piled up 313 all out against Talbert Wallace, who took five for 34, and Rohjay Mitchell (3-57).

Seamer Kelon Jones, with five wickets for six runs, and off-spinner Barrington Simpson (4-26) then combined to dismiss Vere for 80.

At Sir P Oval, STETHS beat Clarendon College by 10 wickets. STETHS fast bowler Deshawn James, a West Indies Under-19 representative, took three wickets for 12 runs and spinners Maliek Spence (3-15) and Tyriek Bryan (3-36), as Clarendon College were bowled out for 107.

Bryan then stroked a 59-ball unbeaten 69 and Humaro Reid an unbeaten 37-ball 32 as STETHS rushed to victory at 111 without loss.

At Tacky High, the hosts beat May Day High by 356 runs. Tacky High piled up 404 for four wickets declared with Jackson hitting 189 and Gordon 120 not out. Youthful leg spinner Shavaughn Boyd then grabbed four for eight as May Day were bowled out for 48.

At Black River High, an outstanding all-round performance from Jemar Morgan carried the home team to a 60-run win over Garvey Maceo High. Jemar Morgan top scored with 75 and Davian Morgan made 40 as Black River High made 197 all out. For Garvey Maceo, Dentay Dillon took 4-44 and Emel Palmer 3-36.

Garvey Maceo High replied with 137 all out. Delano McIntosh top scored with 61 not out.

Morgan, bowling medium pace, completed a highly satisfying game with 6-29.
