Corinaldi Avenue among leaders in St James FA/VM U-13 league

TUCKER, St James — Three teams, led by defending two-time champions Corinaldi Avenue Primary, are unbeaten through their first three games in the St James Football Association/Victoria Mutual Foundation Under-13 league.

Twenty-five teams, including newcomers Fairfield International Academy and Goodwill Primary, are taking part in the competition that kicked off on March 26 and is on a break until after the Easter holidays.

Corinaldi Avenue Primary, who lead Zone A with maximum nine points, have extended their first-round streak of not conceding a goal to nine games, dating back to last season when they had six outings without conceding a goal at that stage of the competition.

Howard Cooke Primary are next on seven points from four games, followed by John Rollins Success Primary next on six points and Green Pond Primary and Mt Salem Primary both on four points.

Barracks Road Primary, finalists last year, are on nine points in Zone B, five more than the deadlocked trio of Catadupa Primary, Johns Hall Primary and Fairfield Academy.

Albion Primary, led by top scorer Aiden Thorpe, who has scored seven goals, are the Zone C leaders. They are yet to concede a goal, winning all three games played. Albion are followed by Maldon Primary on seven points, and Catherine Hall on four points.

Flankers Primary are the Zone D leaders with seven points.
