Vendors enjoy brisk sales during road march
“Water, water”, a youngster not more than 10 years old yelled to passersby as he tried to solicit sales of the commodity while revellers made their way along Hope Road during the GenXS road march.
The demand for the product was huge and the youngster returned to his mother’s stall on the sidewalk to satisfy the needs of revellers who clearly were parched by the afternoon sun.
His mother who identified herself as Doris told Observer Online that she decided to capitalise on the carnival parade as “nuttin naw gwaan”.
“Sir it rough, nuttin naw gwaan, and mi son haffi go back to school tomorrow so mi haffi out ya a try mek it,” Doris shared.

‘Mi naw lie, a fadda God mek this happen, cause mi nuh know how mi did ago send mi son go school this week and bills deh pon mi,’ Doris lamented.

‘To be honest, a nuff water and drinks mi sell so mi grateful, yeah man big up the carnival promoter dem.”
Another vendor who identified himself as Trevor was seen pushing a car loaded with refreshment during the parade.
‘Yea fadda, mi a mek a nice change today. Mi love carnival,” he said.
Several vendors spotted on the route selling various items said business was good.

“You haffi come out ya wid everything cause di people dem waa full joy dem self. Yuh nuh see how the biscuit dem a sell. Yuh caa walk up and dung inna hot sun pon hungry belly,” he said jokingly.
