World Relays: Jamaican 4x100m women win bronze
Jamaica’s women’s 4x100m team won bronze in the final of the World Relays in Guangzhou, China, running 42.33 seconds as Great Britain stormed to a surprising win on Sunday’s final day.
There were some changes to the team that ran in Saturday’s first round with Natasha Morrison replacing Tia Clayton and running the lead-off leg, handing over to Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Tina Clayton replaced her sister Tia on the third leg with Shericka Jackson on anchor.
Great Britain stole the show, however, winning in 42.21 seconds ahead of Spain, 42.28 seconds, while the USA missed out on a medal in fourth.
The Jamaican team, who had already booked their place at the World Athletics Championships on Saturday, also won US$10,000 for their third place finish.
