Peyton Grae expresses femininity and sensuality on Temperature
Emerging singer Peyton Grae says her latest single Temperature is about expressing her femininity and sensuality.
She made the disclosure in an interview with the Jamaica Observer recently.
“Temperature was inspired by me enacting a possible scenario. After having a conversation with my film director about music and what is lacking in the industry, I came up with Temperature. It is a declaration of femininity and sensuality meets rude gyal. It’s the openess of a woman to be able to express herself to a man and letting him know that she is not to be toyed with,” said Peyton Grae.
When asked how important it was for recording artistes to express their feelings and emotions, without coming across as being degrading, she said, “It is important, as how you express yourself tells people how you want to be treated. How you carry yourself is how someone sees you. So, if you want respect, you have to exude that energy to receive it. I love to express myself, however I feel, but I make sure to do it in a way that I can be proud of.”
She is upbeat about the positive response to Temperature.
“I am getting a lot of positive feedback about my new single. Since it was released, fans have been reaching out to me from various countries, including Jamaica, Nigeria, the US and Europe about it. It’s currently getting airplay in all those territories, and the streaming numbers on Spotify and YouTube are growing. I believe with consistent promotion this song will be a summer hit,” said Peyton Grae.
Temperature is featured on a beat which was created by Sos Dynamiks. It was mixed and mastered by Rural Area Productions and released with a visualiser on April 4.
The Portmore-based artiste has been doing music professionally solo, since 2019.
“My musical journey is enough to write a few novels. From losing friends to gaining. Changing and learning about myself and who I am as an artiste. Developing and realising the type of artiste and even person I want to be. My journey, like any other, is filled with ups and downs but has rewarding moments when I receive genuine love from my supporters. I have grown significantly, what would take me a few days to write now takes a few minutes. I have grown and matured into the artiste that I perceive myself to be. Doing music that is commercial but also with depth and strong roots,” she said.
